Hi all,
I am trying to create a very simple report that will allow me to show information from an access database and dont really have a clue where to start. What I am after would be some simple code that would simply scroll through and display every field of all the records of a database - lets say the fields are field1, field2,field3.
It would also be nice to know how to restrict the display to something like field1 = 'abc'.
The previous reporting in Delphi6 I had figured out enough to use but the Rave stuff????

Thanks for any assistance

monitorwa,

Do you want display the contents of each record or just the field names?

Because Rave will display what recordset is. You can use different bands in rave, one for your column titles and one for your
column data. So use one of the Rave connections to connect your data to the rave report i.e.. TRvDataSetConnection. but make sure your query connection stays active while the report is created. Try using the report wizards in Rave to help you with a base report that you can modify.

If you could give me more details about your query that your are using, you might need to change your resultset
to fit your needs

hi Bill,
I have a table (Access) that has lets say 5 fields - field1  - field5, I have several records, lets say 20 which contain data for each of the fields listed above. I would like to display all the data for all the fields in one report, something like

Name(field1)  Age(Field2) Weight (Field3)
Bob                  30                           80
Jane                 32                           68
Pete                 28                           95

and so one. I am not really even sure where to start e.g create a report which would do all of this through Rave then call the report - when I create a data view it keeps coming up with an error?
Or would I be better using the Rave components and create the report through the actual application?

Thanks in advance for any ideas or samples
