synchronize user accounts from one samba domain to another samba server

I have created a samba domain for windows clients to login. But i was wondering if anyone knows how to synchronize the user account and samba passwords to another samba server like active directory as follow:

samba server 1 ---> samba server 2

if a user is created in samba server 1, the same user detail including the samba server would be replicated or synchronize to samba server 2

thx in advance

Your second samba server should be a BDC of your first one (the PDC).

It works exactly the same as in windows.

Your best shot is using LDAP as a user credentials storage.

The smbpasswd replication is not a good method because it needs to work both ways.

You can have a single LDAP server to which both the PDC and the BDC request infos, or, you can also set up LDAP replication in between a master and a slave. This is the best config.

For more information, I suggest reading the following page :

http://us1.samba.org/samba/docs/man/samba-bdc.html

It describes the different options in detail including pros and cons.
