how to control cursor position in a vb.net text box

I am working on a chat room system..I append text every time a message appears, but the text box scrool back to the beginning every time.  How can I force the scroll bars on the text box so the last text is visible.?

       TextBox1.SelectAll()
        TextBox1.SelectionStart = TextBox1.SelectionLength
        TextBox1.Focus()
