Hi,

I'm getting ready to deploy 40 laptops and Citrix will be one of the apps on the image. I know what Citrix is and what it does although I've not used it. I'll figure out the configuration down the road a little bit but for know I'm wondering:

What is the latest version of the client software?

Is it a free download/upgrade?

Will it be backwards compatable with the server? (I don't know what's on the server but we are using W2K servers)

Are there any problems with XP and the latest version?

Thanks for the help, I know I seem lazy but I've got 8 different things going on right now and don't have time to dedicate many resources to Citrix right now.

I believe the latest ver is 7.1.  The client's are free for different platforms, assuming you have the appropriate server/seat licenses.  You can get at http://www.citrix.com/site/SS/downloads/details.asp?dID=2755&downloadID=11120.

The Citrix Server has a management tool there that can help you find version and seats.  You might also check Service Packs and Feature Releases for server to make sure you are current.  http://www.citrix.com/site/SS/downloads/index.asp

I have heard the new FR3 UPD is has printing issues, but you could check for more info in their knowledgebase and support forums.  Have met some good people there.  http://support.citrix.com/
