Unable to remove printer driver for HP LaserJet 1300 PCL 5e
Hello,
I have a printer driver installed for an HP LaserJet 1300 PCL 5e on a Windows Server 2003, Standard Edition. I am trying to remove the driver from the server. When I go to printers and faxes, right click and got to print server properties, drivers tab, highlight the HP LaserJet 1300 PCL5e and click remove. When I try to do this I get the following error message, "Unable to remove hp LaserJet 1300 PCL 5e, x86, Windows 2000, Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 driver. The specified printer is currently in use".
I already removed the printer from printers and faxes but I cannot seem to remove the driver. I even rebooted the server off hours when no one is using any of the printers, attempted to remove the driver and I still get this same error message.
I have even removed registry entires for the HP LaserJet 1300 PCL 5e.
I want to remove the driver because one of our computers that uses Terminal Services keeps picking up this driver instead of using the PCL 6 version.
Does anyone know what might be preventing this driver from being deleted?
Thanks in advance.
