Investigating account locking

Hi everybody!

I'm using an user account (it is part of the adminstrator group) to connect to Active Directory in order to get a compete list of all the users from my company in one of my applications. The same account is used for the backup program, for the SMS, etc...

For some reasons, this account is getting locked without an exact pattern. (we have the policy in place that after entering 3 times the wrong password the account is getting locked). And my applications stops working because it can't open the connection anymore, since the account is locked.

How or where can I check which process is locking this account? So that I can fix this problem.

PS. I can open the Active Directory connection only using this account (I don't know why) and I can't change the backup or SMS to use a different account.

Any help would be really apreciated since the application users are jumping on my head already :)

Thanks a lot!
