Stop MS Visual Studio.net 2003 (interdev) from inserting IDs

Every time I am working in the HTML (text) and I copy/paste any HTML it insists on making an id element and naming it the tagname plus a counter. This is really annoying me since I am working on an older site that someone else here made and it uses ID's for the CSS. When I copy and paste a tag with an ID already in it, it removes it and places it's own, which screwa up the CSS formatting of the page!!

I'll give 250 points to anyone who can tell me how to turn it off.

Read my post, I asked for someone to say how to turn it off. I already know there is no direct option, I am looking doe a reg edit or anything... You said "I would give 250 points for turning off that feature as well. But from my experience you cannot turn this feature off." Which just said you argee and would also be willing to give points for a way, and you do not know of one. You did not give any real info beyond what I said, it is annoying and we want to find SOME way to turn it off.
there is NO way to turn it off. I am not saying i should get the points, i don't know the rules of EE. But what i do know is that since there is no way to turn it off then that answers your question.

what i said about me wanting to give 250 points was because i am annoyed with that "feature" as well. It was not a request, rather a humourous comment.

Oh! Misunderstanding then. :)
Then we agree. Yes, I wish there were a way to turn it off. I am sick of having to regexp search and replace to cream them all in the source. I have contacted MS over 3 verions on this issue over the years and they always just say they will think about it. Grrr.
