Hi, does anyone know where I can find source code for a  secure encryption algorithm written in java?

Cheers for that. mayankeagle's link seems easier to understand so ill probably go with that,

Just one thing im not sure of, if I use a bean to call the encryption method and send the string to the bean, could a sniffer pick up the password en route to the bean?

Can't say for sure, but I guess that shouldn't happen.

But i'm afraid that answer does not answer the question you asked:

a. source code
b. an algorithm
