I did a soft reset on my 3630.
I am now only presented with half white / red screen.
With "Ipaq Pocket PC" in the white section, and "Compaq" P1.07 1.69 in
the red section.

How can I get past this? Need help urgently.

You need to do a full reset:  

Full Reset
Slide the master power switch cover to the right.
Slide the power switch to the right
Wait one minute then slide the power switch back to the left.
The device will automatically restart.
Follow the instructions in the Setup Wizard
