FTP Connect directly to specific directory?

Hi,

Using Window's ftp command on the command line, I wish to connect to a specific directory on a ftp server.  I.e. "ftp myftp.myhost.com/ThiDir" but of course that doesn't work because it will say that domain is an unknown host.  I cannot log into the ftp at myftp.myhost.com first because the username/password that is logging in only has access to login to that one directory.

Is there a way to automatically connect to a specific directory on an ftp server while using the command line other than "cd"ing to it after username/password authentication?  I need this in a jif so points are kinda high.

Thanks.

can you connect to that dir via IE? if server lets you, it must let you connect, if not - ftp server configured incorrectly.

if you need that windows ftp client automatically changes to some dir on connect you can do it in such way:

create file ftp.txt
in it write:

open some_host
some_user
some_pass
cd some_dir

then run ftp clietn with such command:

ftp -s:ftp.txt
0
