Keyboard input via code

Hi,
I would like to include a keyboard-form in my application who will be used in combination with a touch screen.  Does anybody know how i could send characters en shortcuts to the standard keyboard input of windows, like you were typing on the normal keyboard.
(I use borland C++ 6.0)
