Why does the java plug in prompt for network password and user name.

I have just implemented an applet on my site(internal) now when the page loads the applet the plugin (java) prompts for user name and password for the network, however if you say no or just close the prompt it proceeds just fine.

can anyone help.

Hi,
    Do you have a HTTP proxy enabled?If then please go to your browser configuration and specify the IP address of server in the ignore proxy server address list.I guess it should not ask for the username/password now

Proxy is not enabled.  any other suggestions?
