citrix outlook help, personal folder locations..

i am trying to get outlook personal folders to default to the users roaming profile location? any ideas?  Right now i have to manuall go into each user and change there folder location and create a new pst.

I'm assuming this is in a Citrix Environment from your post.
Use the Office Custom Installation Wizard to create a Transform file that you use when you install Office on the Citrix server, this will allow you to specify various options as default for when Office is first run.
Check the Office Resource Kit for this Wizard.

If it's Office 2003 we are talking about then it's Page 10 of 24 of the CIW (Change Office User Settings).
Go into the properties of Outlook and then under Miscellaneous there is a section for PST and you can set the default location

k, thanks i found it.  I guess you can just enter like it shows %USERPROFILE%

Yeah, or alternatively if all your profiles are in the same place you could put a UNC path in like the following:

\\server\profiles\%username%

Assuming of course that your profile directories are the same as your usernames.

Your other option with this is to use Group Policies and add the Outlook ADM file into a policy that applies to all users who log onto Citrix.  You have the same options in here as you do with the CIW, it does mena that you won't have to re-install Office on your Citrix box.

Hey, that worked like a champ. I am using Office 2k3 and Server 2k3. You know what i am also having a hard time finding is the correct registry key to delete the roaming profile cache.  I know this prob should be another thread but it's driving me crazy trying to find that, i am looking here for it

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon

Says find the following

"DeleteRoamingCache"=dword:00000001

Well if you have no idea on that thats cool, thanks for the office help!!!

Do it using local system policy.
Run up MMC and then add the "Group Policy Object Editor" snap-in.  Set it to target the local computer and then under "Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\System\User Profiles" you can set it to delete cached copies of roaming profiles.
Alternatively if you have AD then set an AD Group Policy to do this.

yeah, i had it on my win2k domain controllers but for some weird reason it wasnt getting the correct policy on that. However, i was able to add a line manually to the following key

System Key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon]
Value Name: DeleteRoamingCache
Data Type: REG_DWORD
Value Data: (0 = disabled, 1 = enabled)

worked like a champ, thanks again for all your help.
