Can't close mailbox

There is a mailbox I am not able to remove from my Outlook profile.  If I right click on the object and select Close Mailbox I get the standard error "This group of folders is associaed with an e-mail account. To remove it, on the Tools menu, click E-mail accounts, select View or change existing e-mail accounts, click Next, select the account, and then click Remove."

If I go into e-mail accounts, this mailbox isn't even listed.  Is there somewhere I can go into the registry to remove this profile?

Thank You,

Take a look at HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows Messaging Subsystem\Profiles \YourName and take a look at the keys listed under your name.  Be careful not to delete or modify without backing up the registry, of course.

The keys listed under you name will be a bunch of letters and numbers.  click on each one and on the right pane, there should be a string key with the pst/mailbox name.

>>>HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows Messaging Subsystem\Profiles
If its not this specific key, do Find for 'pst' or 'mailbox' and that should lead you to the profile location.

Outlook believes that mail is configured to be delivered to this mailbox, so, it will not let you delete it.

I agree with stefri... a new profile would be the easiest way to fix this issue.
