Outlook Express does not show message contents

I have Windows 2000 PRO with Outlook Express 6 and suddenly it does not show meesage contents in preview pane and also will not show when double clicking for a new window. All that shows is a blank page in both cases. Do you know what I need to do so that I can view message contents? So far I have to right click message header from inbox get properties box up then click details and then message source to view text.

Thank you

Check your hard disk space. Outlook Express requires a certain amount of free hard disk space to use the preview pane function.

I checked the hard drive space and I have 5.75 Gig left. I do not know how much is needed. Would this also affect a new window when double clicking the message as it is blanck too.

Thanx

That should be plenty.

Try these two suggestions one at a time:

1) In OE, Go to 'Tools|Options|Read|Fonts' Change the default encoding setting
to Western (ISO).  Check to see if your problem is resolved, if not try:

2) In IE, Delete the Temporary Internet Files, including all offline content.

One of these should correct the problem.

No niether item worked. I have downloaded Eudora and am sort of getting used to it. I am unfortunately used to outlook express and would like to get it working again. Is there a setting somewhere else that would affect express's ability to display html? When I opened one message with properties box the text message in message source said that my mail client was not set up to display html documents.

Thanx

Sorry that did not fix it. I had high hopes.

The only setting I know of is in tools, options, read, uncheck the box

"Read all messages in plain text"

I can't think of anything more and I have exhausted the research on the web.

I am punting to more of the Experts out there.

Any ideas that can help ultraman31259

This last thing you said was the first thing I checked. Thanx for trying to help. So far I am sort of getting used to Eudora.

I've same problem, that regsvr32 solution fixed the it. But it happened again few days later. I did a virus scanned; the machine's clean. Do you know what cause the OE6 does not show message contents in preview pane?
