I have been using konsole and i love it. But I want to do away with KDE completely , right now i use blackbox but when i try to run konsole all sorts of kde services are also loaded.

so what I am looking for is a terminal program similar to "konsole" with tabbed windows etc.

Hmm havent tried the gnome terminal , is it a standalone program or you need to have "gnome" installed for it , in that case it would suffer from the same problem as "konsole" has with reg to KDE.

If you are talking about using a konsole like program from console, then you may be out of luck
Veeam Task Manager for Hyper-V

Task Manager for Hyper-V provides critical information that allows you to monitor Hyper-V performance by displaying real-time views of CPU and memory at the individual VM-level, so you can quickly identify which VMs are using host resources.

You have the simlar with just the console if you type alt+F1|F2|F3 etc you have multiple consoles.
A secondalternative is to change windowmanager to a one with just console windows and multiple desktops, that requires less cpu/memory.
