I have a client who has requested a bery inetresting question and I cannot figure it out. He wants an e-mail account setup that when someone sends an e-mail to that account, they would get an automatic response which INCLUDES the message there sent.

So if I send an e-mail to you. You will get an antomatic response but you will be able to see the content of my original message at the bottom.

What e-mail server system are you using?  What e-mail client as well?

To my knowledge, Exchange/Outlook does not natively provide that functionality.

I imagine you could set up a script to do it, but it wouldn't be fun.  You might also try some 3rd party application, like email templates (http://www.emailtemplates.com/et/default.aspx).  I've not used any of these personally, however, but I have definitely worked with serious e-mail-aholics who use tools like these.  However, I don't think the automatic reply function on email templates works with latter versions of Outlook (2002 and up).  I'm sure there are other similar tools out there, though.

Ok thanks I will download and let you know the results  if you are interested. I have another question along the same line. I have client who recently left the company but I would like everyone who send him an e-mail to get an auto response that he has left the company and where they can contact him. I do not want to use the out of office asistant unless I can change the heading 'Out of Office Reply'

Is they a way I can set an auto response for an e-mail account without having to create a mailbox and using the out of office assistant
