I believe I remember that OL2002 does not have the progress display (number of messages completed, total number of messages) when downloading email.  Am I correct in this belief?  Was it fixed in one of the OL2002 service packs?

There is .. Not sure if you had noticed that in send/receive dialog box. Click on send/receive and make sure

"dont show this dialog box during send/receive" is checked .  If it is not checked, then the dialog box shows it at the bottom ..

Try that and post back
