Hi there,
i'm really very new to J2ME programming and i need to develop an application which has a login and shopping cart. It's not really an web application. It's for the end-user to use it as an application in the iPAQ which is using Linux OS. Can someone please tell me how many MIDPlet can i have? I mean how many can i call? as many MIDPlet as i can or only one MIDPlet and the rest are .java files? It's quite urgent...thanks alot...

You can only use one MIDlet per application. The rest can be done using a canvas or high level api's in the javax.microedition.lcdui package.
How much java have you done before?
A J2ME application consits of a Java Application Descriptor file (JAD), the standard jar file, the manifest file, application classes (compiled from *.java files) and any other extra files (such as *.png, *.mid etc).

If you don't already have the Java Virtual Machine (JVM) installed on your iPaq, take a look at this website for possible JVM's to use.

There is no way I (nor anyone else) can directly answer your question by telling you exactly what to do but when doing the programming....if you run into any problems, then post a question in either the Java or Wireless TA and we'll be happy to help you out :)

Cheers
