Size of graphic when moving it from one Adobe app to the other

I extensively use two Adobe programs -- Adobe PhotoDeluxe 4 and Adobe Pagemaker 7.  One question about exchanging graphics between these two programs (actually, this can apply to any two programs, I guess) has always bothered me.  Why does the size of the graphic (I use jpeg, mostly) change when importing from PhotoDeluxe to Pagemaker?  When I create and size a photo in PhotoDeluxe (let's say to 2-inches square), and I import the saved image into Pagemaker, the graphic is anywhere from 6-8 inches square.  Why does this apparent expansion happen?

Hi Tommy,

It depends on the resolution of the image. PageMaker defaults imported images according to what the Print Preferences are set up to for resolution, normally 300dpi. So if your image is i.e. 2x2 inches at 600 pixels per inch, then PageMaker will display it at 4x4 inches. So you have to make sure the images are saved not only at the proper size but also at the proper resolution.

Good Vibes!

Sorry everyone.  Had a death in the family and forgot about this question until now.  I have to say that I looked at the solution here, and believe it is not correct (I fiddled with print and resolution settings in the apps and got the same results).  For example, I changed the print settings of my laser printer within Pagemaker to all different resolutions, and the copied image pasted into the app at the same size......

What happens now?
