Conflicts between PB and Visual Basic

Hi there!

Has anyone encountered problems running PB-based applications on client PCs running on WinXP and has Visual Basic-based applications installed?

I have a client right now who has a Windows XP PC and has both PB- and VB-based applications installed. Whenever he runs the PB-developed application and tries to print a datawindow (for example, when trying to print an official receipt), the error "Offending Command: timeout" is declared by the application and the printing is terminated.

However, when running the application on other WinXP PCs but with no VB applications installed, no such problems were encountered.

By the way, we're using Powerbuilder 6.5.

I hope I made question clear enough.

Thanks!

hi rosh!

you're right. my problem had nothing to do with VB installed in the machine. the problem had something to do with the setup of the printer drivers. we changed the drivers in the PC and the problem was resolved.

by the way, the site you recommended was really helpful. =)

thanks a lot rosh!

cheers,

David
