The LM78 service failed to start due to the following error:

The system could not find the specified file: netevent.dll

Does anyone know what this means?

not sure what that is or what is causing it.
open regedit and browse to
HKLM\system\CCS\services\ and there should be a LM78 listing
look at this and see what description it may have, and what files it is calling

We resolved the problem here.

IBM director (installed on the server) thought it had a LM78 chip in the server.  It turns out there isn't one so it failed.  It was listed in Hidden devices.  We disabled the driver and it all worked.

Thanks anyway...
