Trying to get WUS running on 2000 Server with SP4 installed.

Machine keeps locking up with the above file taking all the processor power.

The machine is a totally clean install with nothing else running except 2k server and this.

Any ideas?

Are you running any anti-virus software?  Your symptoms are suggestive of the welchia worm.

See:-

http://www.pchell.com/virus/welchia.shtml

Try an on-line virus scan at:-

NO unfortuantely this was not caused by lack of virus software.

We never actually resolved this issue and unfortunately the only solution was a full reinstallation of the O/S. Tried all the usual adaware / spy bot and nav angles to no avail.

hewtigg how do i close this i followed the options link but maybe i am missing something?
