Making an internal DVD burner an external?

I just bought a DVD burner and would like to install it on my Compaq Presario. It is an internal drive and I was wondering if there was an affordable (cheap) way to make it an external one so that I would not have to open my computer up? I would greatly appreciate ANY help you could give me. Thanks in advance to anyone that may be able to help me!
P.S. On an unrelated topic, I was given 40 available points for this question. What happens after I've used up all of those 40 points? (I'm still new to this website.)

You can use something like this

http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduct.asp?submit=manufactory&catalog=92&manufactory=1633&DEPA=1&sortby=14&order=1

there are also some cheaper ones like this but not much cheaper.

Thanks, Buckeye! I think I'll try that product out. I figured that the person that answered my question would get the points, but is that all of the points I'm ever allowed. New to this site and have only asked 3 questions. Just wondering if I would be able to ask any more questions in the future. Thanks again!!!!!!

In order to ask more questions you need more points.  To get more points you can do 1 of 3 things that I know of

1. pay for more either in a monthly subscription or just a chunk of points
2. answer the surveys
3. Everyday you log in you get 10 points.

I gave you a link where non of the products can be used for CD-ROMs.  Sorry about that, those are all for hard drives.
