Possible to send mails to different server?

hi,

i know that i can retrieve mails via pop3 from different server.

is it also possible to send mails to different server, too?

we want to do the following:
all "normal" mails should go to the already existing exchange server (this server sends them to internal user or internet mail receivers).
mails to a specific domain (e.g. *@mydomain.de) should go via smtp to a domino server.

any idea how this could be done?

thanks

There is no built in feature or tool to help you do this, AFAIK.

What version of Outlook are you using?

In Xp and 2003, you could use code to take over the SEND button, check the destination, and depending on the destinatiion send using a different account. (These versioins understand about having multiple accounts.)

Off the top of myhead, you -might- be able to do something in 2000 using special send and receive groups (one sending to each of the 2 accounts), but I'm not sure.

hi,

unfortunatelly we'll be not able to change any code in the outlook client.
we also can not configure the exchange server.

would it be possible to change the user account locally and have the changed account sent the mail to a different server (not the "normal" exchange server) ...to a smtp server?
