Permissions denied when trying to execute //localhost/localstart.asp

I have just installed VS Net 2003 and am trying to understand the development environment. I created //localhost/index.htm that has links to iistart.asp & localstart.asp.

I am able to access the homepage from the computer where IIS is installed via the IP address and by name. Also able to access the homepage from other network computers using the IP address. When I try to access these links from another compute I get the "under consrtuction" message. So far so good.

When I try to access these links on the IIS computer, I get the following error
"Microsoft VBScript runtime error: Permission denied: 'GetObject'"  on line 40 [Set oDefSite = GetObject(sPath)]
here some debug info:
?spath
"IIS://localhost/W3SVC/1"

I reviewed the permissions in IIS Manager and they seem to be OK:
"Anonymous access" is checked
"Allow IIS to control Password" is checked and
"Integrated Windows authentification" is checked

also I have a subweb this is working just fine ....

I suspect that I have something setup improperly, because these links used to work once.

If these links are supposed to work this way, I would like to know why ..... if it's broke I'd like to fix it.

Trying to execute a script I get an error:
error: Permission Denied: 'GetObject"
Code: 800A0046

I am a full admin on this local machine. The script is simple and is designed to show me the BIOS version of the local machine.

How do I look at and edit my permissions on "GetObject" ?
