E-Mail works fine.

Newsgroups appear to download but no messages are readable.
View options have been checked several times
Attempted to reinstall Outlook Express by changing value in Registry from 1 to 0 and then attempt download.
Will not download SP1.
Have reinstalled XP and still has not solved this problem.
Any suggestions what to do?

check if you have configured correctly ?

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=http://support.microsoft.com:80/support/kb/articles/Q195/8/79.ASP&NoWebContent=1?

Have you recreated the server information and checked if it would work ?

After your news messages are downloaded , do you atleast see the title or anything related to that ?

Looks like this might help try and post back

Start --> Run  --> Typein "regsvr32 inetcomm.dll" and press "enter"
