What I am doing should be very easy, but I can't get it to work. I know the process of going from flash & back with a graphic. Here is what I am trying to do.

First of all I am in Flash working with a graphic that is a symbol.  I take my graphic to Fireworks by clicking the button to edit in Fireworks.--No problem--The graphic opens in Fireworks.  I then make my changes to the graphic.  I add an edge & then here is where part of the problem comes into play.  I change the graphic to a be transparent by changing it to a gif.  The original graphic is a jpeg. After doing this I then click the button Done & the graphic is back in Flash--but none of the changes have taken place.

Can anyone help me?
Thanks----

I know you can import a jpg into FW and export it as a gif..and not save as a png..that works fine..but you can't change the format in a Flash to FW edit.

and I don't know how you .." I change the graphic to a be transparent by changing it to a gif. "..because export and save options are not available for this type of edit.

so you need to open the jpg in FW (not from Flash)..make the changes.. export the image as a gif..and then import the gif into Flash..you also have the option of saving that image as a FW file (png)
