Symantec does sell a firewall that is separate from NAV. However, I think you are talking about NAV's Auto-Protect feature, which will effectively protect you from viruses. If it is already in use, you will see a green check mark beside Auto-Protect. If it is not, simply click on Auto-Protect, and in the window pane that opens beside it, click on Enable.

Hi Pceasy,

Norton Anti-Virus does not have a built in firewall, however the new version does have ad blocking.  There are 3 products Available:

Norton Anti-Virus -  Anti-Virus software only
Norton Personal Firewall - Software firewall only
Norton Internet Security - Includes both the Anti-Virus and the Personal Firewall in one product.  Also includes popup blocker, spam filtering and privacy control.

Personally I would go for the internet security as updating it is easier and takes less time.

Hope it helps.
