i can't update my windows 2000 professional.
i can't download updates very often.
sometimes i can do that but i can't install them.

you can also manually download critical patches/updates from www.microsoft.com/security if none of the above works. I think there are settings within IE that need to be set just right for windows update to work correctly. Do a search on the knowledge base and it should bring up the issue for you (I had this on one computer after I rebuilt it).

my recommendation would be a split of the points... with a larger portion of the split going to sunray for providing several links that could have potentially solved the updater problem... the other link provided would walk a user to where they can download the patches manually...
