Hello, I am mainly a java developer (please don't hold it against me) . I have been given the task of modifying a old parsing app which is written in c++. Currently the app parses a file and writes it in a user friendly format. Now I need to modify it, so it inserts the data into mysql and oracle database.

How hard is it to get connection. Any helpful code snippets...links, api's

Any info is appreciated.. thanks

It shouldn't be that hard because both of the databases support ODBC (IIRC).  Here are some links for ODBC and MySQL.
