Outlook 2003 contacts issue.

I have a user that has Outlook 2003 and the Server is Exchange 2003.  The server was recently migrated from NT and Exchange 5.5.  He is unable to type the first couple of letters to a contact, and it come up.  After the first time he sends an email to someone, then it will come up.  This user is fed up and I am clueless on the problem.  I created a new outlook address book and that didnt work.  Any Ideas?

Try this
open outlook
go to tools --> options --> Email options ---> Advanced email options
and check "suggest names while completing to, cc, bcc fields"

Now close outlook. open it back and check now..

if that doesnot work try doing this
