Use Modem as Landline phone(like Winfax)

can i use my modem as landline phone? same like, i'm using my modem as fax mechine by using the software called WinFax Pro. such as, is there any software which i can installed in my pc so i can make the call from my pc instead of using the phone(not through the internet). i don't want any answer which talks about pc to pc call , pc to phone (through internet) and all.

Asumming you have a voice modem and have a mike attached to the modem, then yes you can make calls to other people using the modem. You can use hyperterminal to dial out with or download a third party phone dialing software (I recommend the latter)
