Help with Scheduled Task Result Codes

I'm trying to troubleshoot some scheduled tasks that have been failing here as of late.  The Scheduled Tasks tool lists the run times as well as the last result code in a column called Last Result and I'm trying to decipher them.

I found the following three descriptions at :
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q308558

0x0: The operation completed successfully.
0x1: An incorrect function was called or an unknown function was called.
0xa: The environment is incorrect.

But I'm seeing additional result codes such as 0x80 and 0xff and 0x2

Anyone have a list of result codes or know where one is?  ... I'm all Googled out.

Thanks,
-Brian

Hi brianadkins,

The result codes are not a result of the task scheduler but the application itself.  Find a copy of winerror.h (you might have it on your local system).  It will have what you are looking for.

OK... but my scheduled task involves a batch file which fires of multiple applications over a period of hours.

Would the result code be for the batch file, or for whichever application actually bombed?

Thanks for any tips...

brianadkins,

Yes, the error result code would be from your failing application.  If you want to go old school you could run each command of your batch from a command line and echo out %ERRORLEVEL% to see the result code reported there too.
