Remote Web Desktop with Small Business Server 2003

I configured SBS 2003 to allow OWA through a VPN connection.  This works but the part that does not work is the remote web desktop.  For some reason it gives me an error.  I configured the VPN access through a wizard in SBS 2003 giving it the public ip address to the connection.  When I configure a client outside the company to access the remote web desktop I get errorcode 800 errorsource RAS.  If all connections are going to be coming through the internet why do I need RAS and what need to be configured.
