Do you have Any more specific questions?

Dialog/SDI/MDI?  How do you collect the image names?  Is all this app does is what you list, or does this fit into a larger app?  what is the content of the files being saved?

These facts are designed to help people with specific problems, it seems that you are asking for an entire app.  If you are new to MFC and unable to create and manage an application project, then let me know and I would be happy to get you started.  But this is a lot to ask for the points offered.

- They make entire courses for these kinds of questions, but I'll try to get you started.

First of all... any help i give is based on VS6.  Dialog is the easiest to start out with... but SDI is the next best, so try creating an SDI project with all options set to defaults.

Before you go to far, you really need to plan what you want (or if you have already, at least explain it to me)
- Will the user input the image names, or is the program to automatically find them?
- What is the overall purpose of the application?  is it just handling the names of the images, or the actual content of them?
- what will the '.tplt' files contain?  and please realize that extensions are to be 3 characters long exactly... (eg, '.tpt')
- what is the text file in which the image names are placed?  and where is 'certain parts' of the text file?

>> and it does what i list
what do you mean by this?

Realize that each app type has it's purpose, SDI's are used to display more complicated information that dialogs would have difficulties displaying.  If the displayed information is not to complicated for a dialog, you may wanna try starting with them first (but I have no idea where your knowledge base of programming in general or MFC stands).

the program will automatically find the images

the program will take the image name and place it in a specific spot in html code then the file with the image name and html code in it will be saved as a name the user types in with the .tplt file extension

the .tplt files contain html code with the chosen image name in it

This is the line of Html code that has the image name in it
