Hi Experts,
this is an old problem: one of the old laptops in my company has a BIOS password which is out of the standards and now unreachable.
I tried to solve the problem removing the CMOS battery, but to no avail. Now I am tempted to try this program:  http://www.11a.nu/page.php?27
Has anybody already tried it before? I am afraid it might cause serious problems to CMOS. Can anybody suggest me an alternative method to get the password?
Thanks in advance.

I have not tried that.
But I have used Killcmos and it worked very well.

I tried your suggested solution, but it did not work for me.
Just as an afterthought, my system runs win2000 SP4 and works perfectly, except for the fact I cannot enter the BIOS.

Just another thought if you remove a stick of ram if it has more then 1 or change the amount it has
this will somtimes bring the bios up.

A flash of the bios can somtimes remove a PW.

Short of this I think you are giong to have to send it to acer.

Sorry it took so long to reply, my job takes me out of town sometimes.
Any how the only thing else I can suggest is if you know how to and the EPROM (BIOS chip) is not soldered on to the motherboard you may want to get a blank EPROM and try a hot flash.
