Norton Live Update stopped connecting ....

Hi everybody,
    I am in a strange problem, I have Norton antivirus 2003. Now it has stopped updating my virus definitions. Actually when I run the Norton Live Update it responds like this....

I simply cannot understand what to do...Please help...It's urgent.

Apart from liveupdate does internet connection work fine

temporarily disable firewall and see if it would do liveupdate

Also try removing norton completely ( use this tool

, install it and then check

Thanks ghana ur link was spot on....I had to modify my hosts file ..... remove lines with entries "symantec" and "live update" and save it ........... now my Live Update runs as usual...
