Hi there,

If you have MDaemon running on your own machine - Primary Domain IP: 127.0.0.1, with no LAN/Dialup present you can still send/receive emails through WorldClient, (accessing them from that same machine obviously)........thats fine...

But how come i can't connect to them accounts Stores' using JavaMail...again specifying the host address as 127.0.0.1??? I'm using IMAP

So whats stopping me and is there any way around it??

Cheers

Did you check to make sure the IMAP server is active?  Open the MDaemon GUI, under File, make sure there is a check mark next to "Enable IMAP server."

If there IS a check there, restart MDaemon and look in the "System" tab of the logging window.  You will be looking for a like like the following:

Sat 2004-05-22 18:07:54: Initializing IMAP services for [DOMAIN] using 127.0.0.1:143

If you don't see that line, then the IMAP service is not running.  If you DO see it, then what IP does it say it's using?

Finally, if it IS checked, and it IS running on 127.0.0.1, then on the server at a cmd prompt, type:

telnet 127.0.0.1 143

If the IMAP server answers with something like:

* OK [DOMAIN] IMAP4rev1 MDaemon 7.0.1 ready

Then it's working fine and the problem is with the client.
