I cannot find a patch or fix for this W32.FRANCETTE.WORM. My computer is slow now because of this, I've tried to format the hard drive, but still it exists. I do not know how to get rid of this virus.

I am running Windows XP. Both McAfee and Norton pick up the virus but neither of them can quarantine nor repair the file.

Please help!!!

Hi 4913Horstman,

http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.francette.worm.html

Read through all the recommendations, including disabling system restore.
You also need to update your computer using http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com as it exploids two microsoft flaws:
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/bulletin/MS00-078.mspx and
