How do I remove spidersearch from my windows XP computer running IE 6.0?

Check out the registry entries in the PAQ suggested by Iceraven. if that doesnot fix the issue , post the log from hijackthis here and we can assist you further
Run AdAware in SCAN MODE -- to get a quick idea of how bad things are. Don't try to uninstall anything at this point unless you're absolutely sure you know what you're doing.

Run Spybot. Make sure you utilize the "Update" and "Immunize" functions bundled with the utility.

You need to run Shredder as well. It's download link is:
http://www.softpedia.com/public/cat/10/17/10-17-150.shtml
These should do it if they are updated and then ran.
I also found this information which lists other options for removal.

Once you have the software tools in place you are much less likely to encounter this issue again.
