Public folder replication problems

I'm having some problems with public folders. I created a new folder on one of my Exchange 2003 servers and it isn't appearing the the PF hierarchy on the other servers. When I try to manually send the hierarchy to another server, I get an error "An internal processing error has occured. Try restarting the Exchnage System Mamager or the Microsoft Exchange Information Store service, or both" ID no: c1041724.

My Application log contains the following:

Event Type:      Warning
Event Source:      MSExchangeIS Public Store
Event Category:      Replication Errors
Event ID:      3092
Date:            5/7/2004
Time:            6:45:15 PM
User:            N/A
Computer:      XXXXXXX
Description:
Error 1129 occurred while processing a replication event.

 Folder: (17-4157C0) IPM_SUBTREE\xxxxxx\xxxxxxx\xxxxxx

Looks like a mounting or permission problem. First at all, check if both information stores (on both servers) are mounted.

Make sure, the folder replication is setup to both servers.
Check the right on this folder. Especially, Exchange services should have full access rights.
Check if both servers are member of the exchange domain servers group

Both stores are mounted
Replication is setup
Exchange services have full rights to the folders
Both servers are members of the Exchange Domain Servers group

Are you at all familiar with the LDP tool?  If so, I recommend you print out a copy of the full properties of the folder replica on each server and compare them.  Also, check out the properties of the Enterprise RUS, which is responsible for public folders.

Is the public folder instance showing up correctly on each of the servers you have installed replicas on?  Have we EVER had successful replication between them or are we stuck on initial replication?

I believe 1129 errors refer to the host being blocked - at least according to my error sheet - so we may have an authentication issue going on here.  Are both servers running on Windows 2000, and are both running Exchange 2003?  Is there a router or switch between them?  Are they in the same subnet?  Do you have ANY 5.5 still in your environment?
What is happening, if you create a public folder on the other site. Is this folder replicated to the other servers?

Have you had a look into the other event logs. Are there messages befor or after the time, the message above comes up? Also have a look at your other servers, if you have messages at the same time.

Esp. have a look at redirector errors or browser errors

Also have a look into the message searching tool and see, if there are replication messages and what happened to them.
I ended up calling MS PSS and we discoved that there was a duplicate key for this public folder database. What I ended up having to do is recreate the database and allow content to replicate back from the other servers.
