I need to recover the emails after my computer crashed.  Blue spark from the floppy drive!  After reboot from emergency floppy Im getting no FAT and no partition error messages.
Managed to recover documents using a WXp hdd as master and the crashed W98 hdd as slave.  But where are the emails hidden?  I can see the D: drive contents clearly but there is no folder marked outlook express or anything like that.
Does anyone know where these files are hidden or are they lost forever?  Thanks

Hello walwal2 =)

Outlook messages are saved in the form of .dbx files, so make a search on ur D: drive for *dbx files, and u will find all these *dbx files in a particular folder on D: drive somewhere,,,,, copy the whole folder and paste it to a safe place, so that u will be able to import these mails after recovering ur crashed hard drive,,,,,, for more inforamtion check these links carefully,,,,,,

Make sure in folder options to view all files and system files.  Then search.  I've run into times when I could not find any dbx files.  When you "compact all folders" it creates a backup.  Don't forget the addressbook (.wba)

You say the entire OE application no longer exists?

Thanks guys.  I think that program DBXpress may be the one I need.  Sounds similar to the one I used to get to the document folder.  Unfortunatley its not trialware.
Yes the problem is the hard drive is not accessible.  So cant enter OE to do anything or even search for .dbx files because Windows is gone. Using the File Recovery freeware all Ive got is a tree of the corrupt drive which shows things like My documents and Desktop.  Thats how I got my documents back but  cant see anyway to a folder with OE files in it.
