k3b - CD copy/CD clone

k3b has an option to do a "CD copy" and another option to do a "CD clone". What's the difference? My guess is that one of those options refers to copying a disc 1 file at a time, and the other is for doing a simple bit-for-bit copy. Is this accurate?

I think you answered it yourself.
Copy cd just copies the files and the cd-format.. Clone cd makes an exact duplicate "bit for bit".
This applies generally but i've i cannot garantee that is what it means in k3b

Yes, that would make sense to me, but it doesn't seem to be the case. I just did a search and it seems that "Clone" and "Copy" options are really the same thing, except they just use different programs to do the writing (cdrecord and cdrdao).

Although, I would like to know what the practical, real-world difference is between the 2 copying methods (what I originally thought clone/copy referred to) - the file copy and the bit-by-bit copy. What exactly is the difference? I don't mean the technical difference - I know that - I mean what are the advantages/disadvantages of one over the other and when would you use each method?
