Windows CE
I am new to WIndows CE. I received an HP 360 LX PalmTop PC from a collegue at work. I am attempting to install the drivers for a Linksys WPC11 wireless PCMCIA card. I have copied over the executable that I downloaded from the Liksys site. When I double click the exe to install the driver and utility I get the following error.
'wpc11forwince' is not a valid Windows CE Application.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Ok I have the correct driver but when I go to install I get the following error on my CE. "\Windows\MFCCE20.DLL" is in use or is in ROM. If the file is not in ROM, please close the application using the file.
If I click try again it just shows the same dialog box again. If I choose no or cancel it exists the installation. Any ideas?

I am assuming you have done a restart of the device?
ASKER
Yes. I went ahead and stuck the card in. I am now being prompted for a driver name?
ASKER
Ok that did not work. I went ahead an uninstalled and am trying to install again. Still getting the "in use or in Rom" error.
What version of CE is this?
ASKER
2.0 SP 1
I think the min version supported is 2.11 by the driver.

Do you know if it is possible to upgrade to 2.11?
I think you can upgrade to ver 3.0. I have not done one so I don't know what all the steps are.

Any idea where to get the upgrade from ? Download?

This should get up up to version 2.2 I hope it works for you but this is one of those hard nuts to crack. I don't know how to upgrade to Version 3 or higher.

I appreciate it, but this is the download for the Sycronizing software not an OS upgrade.
Strange. That what the info leads me to believe.
