Using RAID-1 with partitions

I was wondering if there is such a thing as a hardware RAID card which will do RAID-1 on partitions of disks rather than just with whole disks.

Basically I have a 40GB disk and a 120GB disk, and I want to mirror the 40GB disk onto part of the 120GB disk.  I still want to be able to use the rest of the 120GB disk as a seaprate (unmirrored) drive.

If no such RAID card is available then is there a software system that would do something similar?  I know that Windows 2000 Server will allow this to be done, but I only have Win 2000 Pro.  Is there third-party RAID software that will do this for windows 2K ?

BTW both the hard disks are ATA100.

Any suggestions would be welcome.  Thanks in advance!
