That example answers the reverse question - how can I use Excel in Python.

The simplest way I could answer the question posed, however, would be to use Python to write COM objects, which you then call from a small VBA wrapper.

As for an example, just have a Google about for writing COM servers in Python.

I think the thing I'm missing is why? I like python, but I wouldn't use it instead of VBA unless I had a very good reason. Perhaps it's a homework question.

     I need it becoz My boss has asked me to learn Python. We are going to use Python instead of using VBA. Even i am not aware of VBA also. They told Python is easy to use.
     So I need a start on that. I dont know where,how to start and where to write the Python script(in place of VBA).

     Or else just tell me how to perform a cumulative addition in a praticular column in Excel.
