Custom login form for Domino Web Access
I am trying to setup a "Custom login form" to use Lotus Domino Web Access, but haven't had any luck.  I followed all the directions I've found on the web for this, but we have one problem.  We are using Domino R6.5, and the domcfg.ntf file that everyone includes in their instructions doesn't exist on our server.  I haven't been able to locate this file anywhere online, so we used the domcfg5.ntf file.  We created the domcfg5.nsf file by adding the Target Database file name (dclf.nsf-which is a generic custom form document) and Target Form name to LoginWhiteKeyAnim.  Then, we restart the http task and open a web browser to http://servername/domcfg5.nsf.  It opens the configuration screen, but doesn't pass to the target database that includes our login.

1- I am wondering if someone can tell us where to get a domcfg.ntf file
2- If there is any setting that needs to be done, on the server side, and also client.( files location, paths)
3- If I need to create a html page, for the login screen, or the domcfg5.nsf will do the job

Thanks

Just to let you know, I usually point the server home page to the custom login page... or sometimes, don't have a custom login page, but point the home page to a page that cotains a login box.

And yes, DomCfg5.ntf is the template file.  Take a look at admin help, topic "Creating the Domino COnfiguration Database"

That doesn't help me, I want to know more specific que steps to setup the files, so I type the address http://servername/DomCfg5.ntf, will take to the login screen, because this is not happeing now.

if is possible, I would like to know if someone, can show I simple example of the html interface, I kind know what to do, but I am lost on the lotus part, what files to call, or point to ...

the DOMCFG5.NTF, is the current file on the server, but all the instructions on the web, talk about the "Domcfg.ntf"

how do I get the the admin help topic.

thanks

DOMCFG5.NTF is fine...R6 admin help does mention that

The file name has to be domcfg.nsf  ... not ntf or other extenstions

I recreated the domcfg.nsf with the domcfg5.ntf template, opened the domcfg.nsf document, added the following:

Applies to:  All Web Sites/Entire Server
Comment:  <blank>
Taget Database: dclf.nsf
Target form: LoginWhiteKeyAnim

I hit Save and Close, changed the ACL and had to type in "Anonymous" and added with Reader priviliges, because Anonymous didn't exist in the address book.  I then restarted the http task, and when I open a browser to http://servername/domcfg.nsf, I get the "web version" of the document listed above and have the ability to Add Mapping, Edit the Mapping I described above, etc...but I though it would show the login form I specified???

I have to admit that I am very new Lotus Notes and apologize for my lack of knowledge--I'm sure I'm doing one little thing wrong, but don't know the fundamentals well enough.

D O N ' T open domcfg.nsf !

OPEN ANOTHER DATABASE !

http://server/log.nsf, http://server/webadmin.nsf, http://server/homepage.nsf?Open&login

You've got 100's of options, just don't open domcfg.nsf !

You will need Anonymous Author access to your dclf.nsf database btw.

Ok guys,
I believe we found the problem.  Bozzie4 suggested making sure the server document had session authentication for single server...well, it was disabled.  We now realize that that field is what pops up the generic windows username/password pop-up.  All we have to do is change it to single server, and it will use the form we specify in domcfg.nsf.  However, we don't have freakin rights to change the server document so we must wait until a "manager" changes it....ahhh.  After we verify it works, we'll distribute points.

Man, I feel stupid...thanks for all the help.

I have a job search page in my website. when the user searches for jobs, he gets a list of jobs that matches his search string. Once the user clicks on the job, he can apply to this job.Once the user applies to the job, he sees a job confirmation page that says "Your job application has been sent." Below that message i want to provide a link that takes him back to the search results page..

For the confirmation page, I have used a $$ return field that says Thank you .

It goes like this:
"<h2>Thank you, " + who + "</h2>"

Is there any way i can provide a link that takes him back to the search result page from the confirmation page.

Thanks,
Jay

Lotus Software produced the Lotus 1-2-3 spreadsheet program, and later developed Lotus Notes, a groupware and email system. Following its acquisition by IBM, the Notes and Domino client/server collaborative platform were expanded to include functions such as email, calendars, to-do lists, contacts management, teamrooms, discussion forums, file sharing, microblogging, instant messaging, blogs, and user directories. IBM also release SmartSuite, a comprehensive office suite, and followed that with Symphony, unrelated to the Lotus suite of the same name.
