I don't want this,I want to look after the newProduct and
if it is exist in table then make sum of the old stock with the new quantity,Else
rs.addnew
------------------------------------
this is all what I want right now,the syntax of inserting if it is Not EOF ..

the barcoding operation should be made a separate question.

You are looking for a BeforeUpdate routine to check for the existance of a SPELLING of a product, not a Product ID.  Is that correct?

Mr.Jadedata
yes Master,
Exact you found my words between lines hahahah,

thank you very much for understanding sir,I want to check BeforeUpdate for the product name or spelling exactly.

AND
IF exist then calculate the store of product with the new Quantity entered in the form,if not add it New,,,,,,that's it.
right.

best regards

Instead of checking the spelling of a product, why not just provide the product names in a combobox set to autoexpand=true, LimitToList=True

This will prevent users from even selecting anything but the properly spelled version, AND it can be used as the selector for the ProductID that may not be known by the user.  Paired comboboxes can be use to allow selection of either data element still storing only the foreign key productid on the record itself.

explain about the store of the product thing

Close this question to your liking and post the barcode question on a separate thread.
The subjects vary too widely to keep them in the same question for member searching for them later.
