SYSTEM EVENT VIEWER displays recuring error (Event 16391)

Can you tell me what is causing my event viewer to periodicaly log the same error? THE source is  BITS, the catagory is   NONE, the event is 16391 and the description reads:  The BITS job is not in a recognized format. It may have been created by a different version of BITS. The job list has been cleared.   A search of my machine located a BITS file (version 6.6.2600.1569). Is this serious? Can it be corrected?

My apologies I should have let toy know that I am a very inexperienced computer user. The first link you provided led me to my disk where I found bitsadmin.exe but I am not sure where I should extract it to MY Documents , MY Computer , Desktop or a new folder. Sorry but I am learning as I go.
First tell is this pc a Simple home system or what is it used for ..... ??
There is no network it is a stand alone desktop that I use mostly for compiling editing and burning sound files I also use it to invoice and track client accounts for my small business.
ok then try saving it to any place, and then run it in Command prompt to check whether it can work or not........ its totally a programming type of thing..... no experince with it........ u must have come to wrong area :)
It won't run from Desktop. double clicking it shows a very fleeying glimps of tis window only
What I have read makes me wonder if what i realy need to do is restore the original version of BITS on yhis machine.  Am I right.  Can you tell me how to do that?
hmmmmmmmmm as far as my researches show,,, this commnd runs from a DOS(command prompt),,,,,,,, u cannot make it run by double clicking it :-?

see here >> http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/WindowsServ/2003/all/techref/en-us/Default.asp?url=/resources/documentation/windowsServ/2003/all/techref/en-us/bitsadmin_examples.asp
sorry it took so long to reply. The power supply in my computer went bad and it is under waranty so it is in the shop waiting for a new part from the manufacter. In answer to your question, no, double clicking only showed th briefest glimpse of the window, much too fast to see anythng and further progress is not possible until I get my computer back from the store.

The retailor replaced my computer under the waranty when the power supply problem reoccured after service. As I feel we were zeroing in on the solution to my problem when the new machine solved it. I will close this question and award you the points. Thank you for your prompt response to my original question and should I have future problems I look foreward to working with you and your peers. As always I have been very satisfied with my EXPERTS EXCHANGE experience and would heartily recomend you to anyone in need of sound computer advice.
